Played in his 100th career OHL regular season game on Friday, October 26, 2012 @ Erie .. The Greyhounds acquired Staples in a 2011-12 mid-season trade with the Kingston Frontenacs .. In the 2010-2011 season with the Fronts, Staples tallied 2 goals, 4 assists, 6 points, and 11 penalty minutes in 37 games. Staples is a Northern Ontario product who played his minor hockey in the North Bay area.
