"Dash" sporting the team's "Pink in the Rink" jersey for 2011/12
The 2011/12 season has seen the Soo Greyhounds bring a lot of new promotions and themes to their fans, and one major addition was the addition of "Dash" - the team's official mascot.
The name "DASH" derived from a team initated "Name the Mascot" contest that spanned three weeks during the month of May. With 145 original submissions, the team Business Operations staff narrowed that list down to eight names which were later posted as part of a poll on SooGreyhounds.com.
After a week of voting, the fans choice was "Dash".
"Dash" will be sure to provide another element of entertainment at all Soo Greyhounds home games, charitable events and public appearances.
Watch for "Dash" in, and around, Sault Ste. Marie throughout the upcoming season.
