Tolchinsky chosen by Hounds in Import Draft

With the 12th overall pick in today’s CHL Import Draft, the Soo Greyhounds were proud to select SERGEI TOLCHINSKY from CSKA MOSCOW of the Russian Junior League (MHL)

In 51 regular season games played, Sergei had 19 goals and 15 assists to go along with a +17 rating.

Meanwhile at the 2012 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge, Tolchinsky tallied 6 goals in 6 games played for Team Russia including a hat-trick in the Championship game to help lift Team Russia over Team USA 7-4 for the gold medal. Tolchinsky joined Hounds defenceman Darnell Nurse on the World Under 17 Challenge Tournament All-Star Team.

Tolchinsky joins Michael Schumacher as the two Hounds Import players heading into the 2012-13 Ontario Hockey League season.

The Hounds will not make a selection in the 2nd Round of today’s CHL Import Draft.
