With the 41^st Ontario Hockey League season around the corner, the Soo Greyhounds ended Training Camp 2012 tonight with the team’s Annual Luke Williams Memorial Red & White game.  Team Red defeated Team White by a score of 7-4.
Following the game, General Manager Kyle Dubas, Head Coach Mike Stapleton and their accompanying staff reduced the team’s active roster down to twenty-nine (29) players.

Presently remaining with the club are:
Goalies (3) – Matt Murray, Justin Nichols, Charlie Millen

Defense (10) – Colin Miller, Ryan Sproul, Kevin Spinozzi, Tyler Ganly, Mac Clutsam, Fraser Turner, Darnell Nurse, Alex Gudbranson, Cody Mintz, Matt Fuller

Forward (16) – Jared McCann, Dylan Staples, Michael Schumacher, Mitchell Dempsey, Trent Mallette, Alex Morgan, Michael Laidley, Brandon Hughes, David Broll, Brandon Alderson, Greg Jambrosich, Nick Halagian, Landon Schiller, Dylan Mascarin, Ryan Kirkup, David Quesnele

Eighteen (18) players were subsequently released from their club, or re-assigned to various programs.  Those players are:
Kyle Jenkins, Sheehan Kirkwood, Jeremy Solomon, Tyler Brown, Gavin Burbach, Jaren Bellini, Tyler Sehovic, Medric Mercier, Jonathan Rizzo, Jack VanBoekel, Tyler Jones, David Miller, Anthony Butorac, Will Maness, Nick Pastorious, Devin Shell, Reilly Turner and Brandon Halverson (signed).

The 2012-13 Hounds will now begin preparation for the OHL pre-season which begins this coming Thursday, September 6^th when the locals host their Northern Ontario rivals, the Sudbury Wolves.
Game time is 7:07 p.m. at the Essar Centre.

In total, the team will participate in 4 pre-season match-ups including:
Saturday, September 8^th – 7:11 p.m. @ Saginaw Spirit
Friday, September 14^th – 7:35 p.m. @ Sudbury Wolves
Saturday, September 15^th – 7:07 p.m. vs Saginaw Spirit (Essar Centre)

Tickets for both home pre-season games and ALL regular season home games are now on-sale at the Essar Centre Box Office, Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
