"Pink in the Rink" put Hounds Director of Game Day & Community Relations up for honour

Soo Greyhounds, Director of Game Day Operations and Community Relations, MEGAN DUBAS has been nominated for the 2012 New Community Event Organizer Award. Megan planned and executed the Pink in the Rink event which was held on October 14, 2011. The event raised $20,642 in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s Iced Pink Campaign.

“It is an honour to me nominated for this award, especially for such a great cause,” said Megan Dubas.

“Without the support of Scotia Bank, Northside Auto Group and the fans this event wouldn’t have been successful. I am thankful for their support.”

Megan’s dedication to community outreach truly defines the values of the Soo Greyhounds organization – character, integrity and passion on and off the ice.

“Megan’s nomination is a testament to her tremendous passion and enthusiasm for charitable events that serve our community,” said GM Kyle Dubas.

“The Soo Greyhounds are fortunate to have such an ambassador, as her dedication continues to inspire all of us to get involved.”

Megan started with the Greyhounds in 2009 as an intern. In 2010, she was hired to work full-time with the organization as an Assistant to the Director of Marketing and now leads all community relations and game-day operations for the team.

Megan will represent the Soo Greyhounds organization at the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Ontario Region 5th Annual Volunteer Awards Ceremony on April 15th in Toronto.
