The Soo Greyhounds finished a three-game home stand Sunday by dropping a 4-2 decision to the Guelph Storm. The loss snapped the Hounds 3-game winning streak. Matt Ryan's power play goal in the second period turned out to be the winner. Shane Hart, Marty St. Pierre, and Brett Trudell scored the other Guelph goals. Jeff Carter (pictured) had both goals for the Hounds and was named first star of the game. Guelph's Dan Paille, who had 2 assists was second star while Brett Trudell was named third star. The Storm out shot the Hounds 37-26. The Storm led 2-1 after the first period, and 3-1 after 2.
The loss dropped the Soo's record to 25-29-3-1. The Hounds earned 4 of a possible 6 points during the home stand registering victories over Sudbury and Belleville. Hounds coach Marty Abrams was ejected from the game in the first period after receiving a game misconduct.
The Hounds return to action Tuesday night when they visit the Sudbury Wolves.
