SAULT STE. MARIE, ON-
Momentum can be a funny thing in hockey.  And for the Soo Greyhounds, they were looking to keep the ball rolling on Sunday evening when they played host to the Oshawa Generals in their second and final meeting of the regular season.

Both clubs entered the game following an off-day on Saturday.  And while the Hounds were coming off a victory over Ottawa, the Generals were looking to rebound from a one goal loss in Sudbury.

DAVID BROLL and Daniel Maggio would try to spark their respective clubs just five seconds into the game with a quick fight near centre ice.

Following that the Greyhounds would begin the short barrage on Generals netminder Dan Altshuller while holding Oshawa off the shot clock until 6:12 in to the period.

It would be the visitors opening the scoring just over the midway point of the period.
While skating 4-on-4, Lucas Lessio would get behind the Hounds defense and put a deke on JACK CAMPBELL before sliding the puck low for a 1-0 lead.

Captain CARSON DUBCHAK would tie things up just under three minutes later.  Following up on a shot from the point, Dubchak would put a rebound in behind Alshuller to even things up.  BRETT FINDLAY and MICHAEL SCHWINDT would register the assists.

The two teams would then trade off goals before the opening period would be over.
First, Scott Sabourin would net his 3rd goal of the year while Oshawa was shorthanded and then MICHAEL SCHUMACHER tied things up once again at 16:08 while the Hounds enjoyed a 5-on-3 powerplay.
Schumacher's goal was his 17th of the season, and third in the last two games.

Hounds and Generals would skate into the dressing room tied 2-2 after 20 minutes.

Early in the second period, with the Generals Sabourin in the box for a head checking minor, COREY DUROCHER would net his 11th goal of the year and the Hounds had their first lead of the game, 3-2.

Then late in the period DUBCHAK would continue his highlight night getting a piece of the puck after the initial shot went off the cross bar behind Alshuller and the Hounds lead now sat at 4-2.

Andy Andreoff made it a one goal game scoring on the powerplay at the 17:33 mark of the second period and the Hounds had a one-goal lead after two periods of play.

Oshawa believed they had tied the game in the third while on one of their four powerplays on the night, but with a player in the crease the goal was waved off.

That would set-up the hat trick goal when CARSON DUBCHAK iced the empty netter with 33 seconds to play and led the Hounds to the 5-3 victory.

A solid, disciplined effort saw the Hounds give up just four powerplays to the Generals while their own powerplay went 2-for-5 on the night while they also outshot Oshawa 41-27 overall.

With the win, their second straight, the Hounds record improves to 16-14-2-1.
