GIANLUCA CURCURUTO became the third member of the Soo Greyhounds chosen in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

The Richmond Hill, ON product was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets with the 1st pick of the 7th Round (182nd overall).

Curcuruto, entered the draft following his 2nd season with the Hounds where the 6.01, 198-lb defenseman had 3 goals and 13 assists (16 pts) in 63 games played.
Originally the Hounds 1st Round pick in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection, Curcuruto's season was highlighted by an appearance at the CHL/NHL Top Prospects game where he eventually found himself among the NHL Central Scouting's final rankings.

Of note - It was earlier this week that the Blue Jackets appointed former Hounds' coach Craig Hartsburg as an Associate Coach with the NHL Club.
